Littleover is a suburb that is approximately 2 miles south west of Derby. The suburb has a fairly large shopping area on the Derby to Burton road, with a wide variety of shops and services including a Kwik Save, Iceland, garage and pubs. The Church of St Peter is the main landmark in Littleover.

The local schools include Gayton Junior School; Littleover Community School; Derby Grammar School; Derby High School.The area has regular bus service from Arriva Buses connecting Littleover to Derby and Heatherton Village every 15 minutes.

There is no railway station in Littleover however but the mainline station in Derby is close enough.

Littleover has a varied choice of eating and drinking which includes, the Half Moon, and the White Swan, along with the Hollybrook, in Heatherton Village, very popular among the youth.

There is also a variety of restaurants with various foods, Indian, American, Chinese, and Italian and even take away food.
