Derby County Football Club is a professional football club based in Derby, currently playing in the Football League Championship. The club is one of the twelve founder members of the Football League in 1888 and is, therefore, one of only eleven clubs to have competed in every season of the English football league.
The club was founded in 1884, by William Morley, as an offshoot of Derbyshire County Cricket Club. The team currently plays its home games at the Pride Park Stadium, situated in Pride Park.
