Description:
The Peak District National Park is Britain’s first national park established in 1951. It includes a large area of Derbyshire and parts of Yorkshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire with 38 000 people residing in the area.
The park has breath taking natural beauty with it’s limestone dales and rugged moor lands. Places of interest include Chatsworth House which is residence of the Dukes of Devonshire, and the Haddon House near Bakewell residence of the Mannors family.
Other interesting buildings are the Lyme Hall seen in the BBC drama Pride and Prejudice as Mr Darcy’s residence and Hardwick Hall.
Also the peak district gives plenty of adventure from rock climbing, to caving, cycling and hang-gliding . The park is the second most visited park in the world with visitors from many countries.
