Derby Arboretum

Description:

The Arboretum park is located within an area enclosed by Normanton Road, Osmaston Road, Reginald Street and Rose Hill Street.

The park includes new playground (Rose Hill Recreation Ground) which provides state of the art playground equipment for children of all ages.

The area is enclosed by railings and encourages a wide variety of  wild birds, fish,  insects and plants (below a Water Lilly). 

The facilities includes Astro Turf covered games Courts, an asphalt basket ball court and cricket nets with Astro Turf, also it provide facilities for local sports teams, children's sports teams, local schools and city wide sports events.

Other facilities include the Park Building which offers room hire  for groups, parties and public meetings etc., a café, public toilets, changing rooms and showers for the sports and a pleasant veranda area for outside dining. 

The Arboretum is very popular with local dog owners and their dogs, here we see "Danny" one of the local dogs out for a Sunday stroll.
