Spondon in Derby

Description:

Spondon  is a suburb  in Derby , located about 4 miles to the east of the city centre. The name Spondon is Anglo Saxon and describes a gravelly hill. The suburb was once a farming village.

The area has very good rail links that many people commute to London.  Locally the suburb is connected by reliable regular buses to Chaddesden and Derby city centre.

Within the area is one main shopping centre on sitwell street with various shops including supermarkets, banks, a car repair garage, florist  and clothing shops.
