The Pickford's House Museum is located at number 41 Friar Gate Derby. The museum was built in 1770 by architect Joseph Pickford; the building has a grade one listing. It opened in 1988 and gives a picture of life in the early 19th century.
Rooms in the house include a dining room, drawing room, kitchen, morning room, laundry room and servant's bedroom, all recreated as they would have been in Georgian times. Cooking and laundry demonstrations are held here regularly.
Costumes and accessories from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries are also on display.
