Hand surgery unit relocates to Derby’s main Hospital

Surgeons from around the world have attended the official opening of a hand treatment clinic in Derby.The Pulvertaft hand centre which used to operate from the former Royal Infirmary has now moved to the Royal Derby Hospital.

The centre, one of the UK's largest, once treated Prince William for a broken finger, and last year saw 7,861 new patients

Consultant hand surgeon Jill Arrowsmith said it was good to have all the facilities under one roof.

She said: "We now have everybody in one location so a patient who's referred to us comes in through our outpatient department and can see the surgeons and the therapists in the same location."
