University of Derby scooped a prestigious national award for 2010 in Leadership and Management

The Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Award this year went to the University of Derby for Outstanding Leadership and Management.

This prestigious national award presents an officially recognition of the University's excellence in leadership and management in the current economic climate. The award was presented on Thursday the 17^th of June at a ceremony at Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane, London.

The award follows on from the 2009 awards when the University of Derby won the Outstanding Finance Team category in the very first Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.

The University Vice-Chancellor Professor John Coyne said: "I am delighted. It is a real privilege to have our peers recognises the journey we have been on and the quality of talent that we have, so broadly and deeply in our University.

Professor Coyne added: "It's an endorsement of the approach that our leadership team brings to the University of Derby.

We are enjoying a period of unprecedented success. This has not happened by accident but is the result of high quality, professional and motivated staff throughout the University delivering first class performance.
