One of Derby's oldest industrial sites to be transformed

12 October 2009

Description:

One of Derby's oldest industrial sites could be transformed after lying derelict for two years.

Ivygrove Developments spent £1m on the site and started demolishing the old buildings in August to build about 20 industrial units on the former Rolls Royce Sawley Packaging site in Nottingham Road.

The firm, based on the Racecourse Industrial Park in Mansfield Road, Derby, said if planning permission is granted it would start work on the two-year project in the new year, with the first units ready for the summer.

The units will range from 5,000 to 20,000 sq ft.

The four-acre site has contained industrial buildings since the late 19th Century.
