Derby Fame Factor 2010 final was scooped by Singer Marcia Lynette Campbell

A place in Derby's Christmas panto now belongs to Marcia Lynette Campbell. A singing mum beat off competition from a fire juggler, a football freestyler and street dance groups to win this year's Fame Factor competition.

More than 1,000 people filled the Assembly Rooms to watch the Fame Factor final on Friday night, hosted by Ram FM DJs Dino and Pete.

The 35-year-old mum-of-two, Marcia wowed the judging panel with her rendition of And I'm Telling You, from the award-winning film Dreamgirls.

Now, she is set to appear alongside TV star Neil Morrissey in Derby Live's panto Aladdin later this year.

The contest started last month, with 150 acts vying for a role in Derby Live's annual panto.

After 82 auditions, the acts were whittled down to the final 12 and Marcia Lynette Campbell became the winner.
