Description:
Derby City council has thrown some hope that the city of Derby could be cleaner and safer.
The council could allocate teams to specific streets in the city in an effort to significantly improve the quality of council services, thereby making people feel better about the city and help reduce other problems.
A survey found some residents were unhappy with the response to problems like potholes, graffiti and lighting.
Now instead of sending out a team to fix similar problems in different locations, one team will deal with all issues in a designated area.
The council said it planned to have a single number for reporting all maintenance issues and to speed up the reaction to these reports.
If given final approval the changes, which would come out of current budgets, are likely to be in place by the spring.
