Schools set to merge next year

Description:

Three Derby infant and junior schools will be merged next year if the proposal is approved. The schools are Cherry Tree Hill infant and junior school, Nightingale junior and infant school, and Borrow Wood infant and junior school.

The merger means each pair will now have a single governing body and head teacher, but will continue to operate within their existing buildings.

More than 90% of parents from the above named infant and junior schools are happy with this proposal, because the joining of infant and junior schools means continuation of the same curriculum and a smooth transition from year 2 to year 3.
