Derby homes damaged in 'tornado' strike

What is believed to be a tornado has damaged dozens of homes in Derbyshire. 

Houses in Dennis Close and Maypole Lane areas of Littleover had roof tiles ripped off and garages collapsing just after 1330 GMT.

The emergency services are now inspecting nearby buildings to make sure they are safe.

Resident Graham McNeilly said: "The sky went black and I heard a huge crash and I came out to see fence panels flying through the air.

Repair teams are on the scene trying to make all affected houses watertight before nightfall.
