MELBOURNE EXTRAVAGANZA
Melbourne is holding their Christmas Shopping extravaganza this Saturday from 2.00pm.
This will include all the village shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants will be open and the Market Place will host a variety of stalls, musicians, dancers and a hog roast.
CHRISTMAS AT HADDON
Haddon Hall opens up again this weekend for the Christmas period.
The main rooms such as the 17thcentury Long Gallery, the medieval Banqueting Hall and the atmosphere Tudor dining room, will be decorated with natural foliage and trees from the Haddon Estate.
This weekend will also include a Tudor Group who will bring Haddon to life with their authentic Christmas preparations
Opening Times: 12 noon – 5pm
SANTA RUN
This years Santa run is being held at Carsington Water. In aid of Rainbows Children Hospice. Around 200 Santa’s will run, jog, walk or stagger around the 3.5 mile undulating course.
The run starts at 11 am and the route takes you from the visitor centre to the Sheepwash returning to finish at the control point.
The route is suitable for pushchairs and you are also able to enjoy the rest of the day at Carsington Water and the facilities available.
CHRISTMAS PANTOS
The Snow queen is still playing at the Derby Theatre. A classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson, a magical story about the triumph of love over wickedness
