Further heavy snowfall is predicted across the region into the weekend, continuing days of disruption on the roads and school closures.
Snow showers are predicted for Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire.
Parts of Derbyshire and Leicestershire are also expected to see heavy snowfall on Sunday.
Forecasters said several centimetres will fall each day in affected areas.
The conditions have led to icy roads and pavements.
